Keller PD39XEi Series Intrinsically Safe Differential Pressure Transmitter

Keller PD39XEi Series Intrinsically Safe Differential Pressure Transmitter

Quick Overview

The Keller PD39XEi Series transducers are suitable for monitoring differential pressures in a hazardous area. The sensor uses two absolute pressure sensors, allowing for unbalanced pressures between each port, which isn't possible using a single sensor cell that would be damaged by the imbalance. Line pressures are available from 3 up to 300 Bar with the differential pressure range configurable within this range (at least 5% of line pressure. The RS485 output allows readings to be collected via RS485, or to connect to the CCS30 software using the K104 or K114B download cable. The scaled output can be either a 4-20mA or 0-10V.

Piezoresistive Differential Pressure Transmitters based on two Absolute Sensors

In applications where the differential pressure is more than 5% of the maximum standard pressure range, differential pressure measurement with two absolute pressure sensors offers major advantages over conventional methods of differential pressure measurement (such as the Series PD-10).

The Series PD-39 X does not measure the differential pressure directly - instead, it uses two absolute pressure sensors to take the measurement indirectly. As well as reducing costs, this differential pressure transmitter is also more robust in relation to unbalanced (one-sided) overloading. The differential pressure range should be at least 5% of the standard pressure range. Each pressure side has two pressure connections, so the PD-39 X is easy to use in pressure lines.

Each Series 30 transmitter also integrates a digital interface (RS485 half duplex) which you can make use of: Connect the transmitter to a PC or Laptop via the converter K106 (RS232-RS485). Two programs are offered: READ 30 and PROG30.
